Louis Botha AMbush

Our First AMbush along Louis Botha.
we were blessed by being given plants from CMD nursery based in Limbro Park, and took them to a busy intersection close to Hillbrow.
This site really highlighted some of the issues around guerilla gardening in Johannesburg into sight, as well as their solutions. How to get water, who will look after the plants, the seasons and waiting for the rain to come (which is still being highly elusive).

But within this city, where everybody is rushing, struggling and surviving it is that which we need to take hold of and allow people who occupy these spaces to be heard, be listened to, and to be a part of how we can imagine this city.

Things need to change. because at the moment people are speeding past the streets, past each other and past their own lives. How can we allow for people to realise that this reality, may not be reality, and that they can redesign it if they want. How can we start to redesign our city, our perceptions, our reality, and make that accessible to our entire population.

We need to grow together.
We need to be allowed to dream.
allowed to reimagine.
and allowed to take control of our reality.

Si Blomile Nje.
